Rolfing
It is an original and scientifically validated system of body restructuring and movement education. It releases the bodies segments, legs, torso, arms and other body regions from lifelong patterns of tension, and permits gravity to realign them, the result is a balanced body.
Rolfing can be used to ease chronic pain, and stress by loosening the connective tissue called fascia between muscles and bone. Rolfing treatments improves structure in a gentle, safe and lasting way. Rolfing eases stress in the body, increases flexibility, and can be used in the treatment/management of repetitive stress injuries. Rolfing treatments can enhance athletic performance, and develop a feeling of fitness and wholeness.
Serena Powell, Certified Advanced Rolfer, has her bachelors degree from University of Nebraska, Omaha and a Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Serena attended the Rolf Institute, Boulder Colorado and received her certification in December of 2003. In continuing her education she has taken advanced courses in bio-mechanics and visceral manipulation within the Rolfing arena. Serena completed her Advanced Certification in May of 2009.
